‘Unique Talent Recognition 2018’ – a programme organized by Indian School Muladha under the auspices of the Board of Directors on Saturday, 17 November 2018 showcased an array of multifarious and unique talents of students from across the various Indian Schools in the Sultanate.
“Unique Talent Recognition” is an initiative meant to harness the inherent talents of students from the various Indian schools in Oman. Unlike other platforms that focus on conventional academic, cultural and sports talents, this program, henceforth to be an annual event, intends to give impetus to identify, showcase & hone the unusual and rare talents in children.
These skills, exhibited on Saturday with great enthusiasm, included capabilities & achievements such as addition and subtraction of four-digit numbers without calculator or paper; mesmerizing magic shows; mimicking sounds with precision; card tricks; instant composition of poems; doodling; beat box, acrobatic postures; juggling; incredible memory challenges; playing chess and keyboard blindfolded and many more. The various acts displayed showed the underlying passion, discipline and hard work of the children and left the audience mesmerized and spellbound by the display.
Mrs. Maryam Mohammed Al Zadjali, Director, Oman Society for Fine Arts, graced the occasion, as the Chief Guest. Former Chairmen of the Board Mr. Kiran Asher, Mr. Yusuf Nalwala, Mr. Tonny George Alexander, and Mr. Wilson V. George were the Guests of Honour. Members of the Board of Directors, School Management Committee, Principals of Indian Schools, teachers, parents, and students attended the function.
Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel welcomed the august gathering and underscored the significance of the event. “Unique Talent Recognition as an initiative will hopefully gradually expand the current limited definition of ‘Talent’ as perceived by parents and children themselves. This platform is here to make our children believe in their inherent skills and interests and assure them that every skillset they possess will ultimately link together to a larger purpose”, explained Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel.
Mr. Vinoba MP, Senior Principal and Education Advisor proposed the vote of thanks. All the participants were presented mementos and certificates. The programme is expected to help students to explore their own innate potential, discover their hidden talents and hone them to perfection.
