The Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman in association with O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat organized professional enhancement programme for academic administrators and office staff of Indian Schools on 13thand 14th September 2019 at Indian School Muscat.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel, Chairman – Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman highlighted the need for continual improvement andimplored everyone to make life-long learning a habit. He also added, “With a view of ensuring holistic education, various initiatives have been implemented by the Board and many more are under implementation to enable our staff and faculty to empower themselves and be global citizens. This training is as per our commitment to this aim, underlined in the vision 2020.”
The resource person for the programme was Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev P. Sahni, Principal Director, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, Jindal Global University, Sonipat. He was assisted by Dr. Mohita Junnarkar, Assistant Professor from the same university. The trainers accentuated on the need to change our pedagogical attributes considering the ever-evolving educational goals of modern times. In such a scenario, continuous professional quality development of teachers and academic administrators becomes absolutely indispensable to respond to the changing needs of the students and the system.
The administrative staff of Indian Schools was given a session on business etiquette in their work place. It is important for administrative professionals to understand and apply business etiquette, especially considering their daily interaction with other stakeholders in the system.
The two-day programme was attended by Principals, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of Departments and the administrative staff of Indian Schools across the Sultanate.
