‘Care and Special Education’ wing of Indian School Muscat organized its annual concert on Saturday, 16th November 2019 with scintillating performances of children on the theme ‘Celebrating Life’. The musical extravaganza held at the new multipurpose hall of Indian School Muscat held the audience spellbound by the exuberance and talent showcased by the children.
Honourable Madam Yuthar Al Rawahy, Founder of Oman Cancer Association, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His Excellency Dr. Wahid Ali Said Al Kharusi, President of Oman Cancer Association, Mrs. SiddiqaBint Abdul Majeed Al Lawatiya, Director of International Schools Office, Ministry of Education, and Mr. G.S. Bhavani Prasad, Director in Charge of Care and Special Education were the Guests of Honour.
The event was also graced by Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, Members on the Indian School Board and Mr. Saurabh Saksena, President, CSE Management Committee and members of the CSE Advisory Council and CSE Management Committee.
Chief Guest Honourable Madam Yuthar Al Rawahy lauded the efforts of the management and teachers for their indefatigable efforts in touching the lives of the children at Care and Special Education. The Chief Guest was overwhelmed by the unparalleled skills displayed by the children through their performances.
Mr. Saurabh Saksena, President of the CSE Management Committee, welcomed the august gathering. “This concert is not a destination, but a journey. The learning outcome of the concert is tremendous for the children: they get to learn important life skills like patience, caring and sharing, etc. The message is ‘Do not wait for the perfect moment; take the moment and make it perfect’”, Mr. Saksena said.
Indian School Board Chairman Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel reminisced the way CSE has gone from strength to strength over the years and said CSE is an epitome of collaborative educational system wherein the best facilities are provided for our children through concerted efforts. Dr. Sam thanked the Ministry of Education for its encouraging patronage in all educational endeavours of the Board.
The variety entertainment programme that followed enraptured the audience with amazing display of talents. The welcome song by children holding glittering pom-poms marked the beginning of the show and gave the audience a glimpse of what the evening had in store for them. CSE musical band ‘Mystical Beats’ was inaugurated on the occasion by the Guest of Honour His Excellency Dr. Wahid Ali Said Al Kharusi.
Another attraction of the evening was the display of extraordinary memory by Master Pranav Ayachit who could recall any information pertaining to Indian Premier Cricket League.
CSE staff who completed 10 years of service were felicitated on the occasion. Members of the Advisory Council and CSE Management Committee were honoured with mementos for their relentless support to the school. CSE in Charge Mrs. Sheeba Naqvi proposed the vote of thanks.
The evening left the audience with joy and optimism, the feeling of being part of a Broadway Musicals, with the students getting into the soul of the character, be it acting, dancing or singing.
