ICAI COMMERCE TOPPERS FELICITATION 2018-19

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) – Muscat Chapter felicitated the students of Indian Schools who secured the top three positions in the Commerce stream in the CBSE Class XII examinations held early this year, at a ceremonious function held at Indian School Al Ghubra on 28 August 2019.

Mr. Bhavani Prasad, Finance Director of the Indian School Board presided as the Chief Guest of the event and Ms. Ashwini Sawrikar, Chair Person, ICAI Muscat Chapter, was the Guest of Honour. Members of the Indian School Board, Members of ICAI Management Committee, Principals, Teachers, students aspiring to pursue Chartered Accountancy as their career and their parents attended the function, which was organized under the auspices of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman.

The recipients of the prestigious ICAI Muscat Chapter Award 2019 are Adveteeya Ganti (ISG – 96.6% ), Kenvin Thomas K (ISWK – 96.4%) , Alisha Shereef (ISM – 96.2%), Ian Francis V (ISD – 96.2%) , Stephy Ann Zachariah (ISD – 96.2%). The Award consisted of a Certificate of Appreciation, memento and cash prize.

Mr. Bhavani Prasad, Finance Director of the Indian School Board thanked the Management of ICAI Muscat Chapter for constituting the award to felicitate the Oman toppers in Commerce stream.

In her address, Ms. Ashwini Sawrikar, Chair Person, ICAI Muscat Chapter enumerated the salient aspects and prospects of Chartered Accountancy as a career. She lauded the great initiative of the ICAI Muscat Chapter in promulgating CA as a profession and she hoped that the award would encourage and inspire many students to take up this profession. She also thanked the Board of Directors and the management of Indian School Al Ghubra for providing a platform for organizing the award function.

Mr. Arjun Sethunath, motivational speaker exuberantly entertained the audience with his vibrant and dynamic speech.

Representing the ICAI, CA …………………………………………….expatiated the course content of CA with its different levels. He encouraged the students to take up this rewarding profession and motivated them with the three essential qualities required to succeed – dream, dedication and determination……………………….., ex-students of Indian Schools who completed CA were also felicitated by the ICAI. Queries posed by the parents were answered by the ICAI Executive Committee consisting of Mr. Shahnawas Khan, Vice Chairman; Mr. Ramananda Prabhu, Treasurer; Management committee members Mr. Manish Jain, Mr. Sanil Varghese and Mr. Ravi Deora.
